Welcome back Gordon mate. Shame about both your jorneys - if the air-conditioning didn't cane you on the way down, then I suppose the M1 accident on the way back did At least you didn't have a big box of records to lug this time Great to see you on Saturday - and I'm glad we got to have a bit of a chat afterwards - you me and Stephen. As someone else mentioned, do you mind posting up the tracklistings to both CDs sometime mate - I've had a listen to both now - not only handsome memories, but also some very nice tunes - a few I had, many I didn't...

Well I also had another swell night, just like last time except I was a little less pissed. Thanks to John Baldy for organising it all, it was great. Highlights included: 1. Meeting all those nice people, not necessarily from here or there 2. Top tunes getting everyone dancing 3. Nice beer (Pitfield Eco warrior was an unexpected treat) 4. Jean Paul's new suit 5. Jammy Bros reunion (unphotographed, thank God) 6. Ian's ecstatic countenance 7. S1 Soundclash (for me GG won it by a mile) 8. Discussing Citroens with Hugh while having a piss 9. Ms Home's haircut 10. The vibe, man See you next time, thanks again John. How much did we raise already?

Well what can I say. I am so honoured that so many of you came to MIU! - and what a good night to follow the best day of Ian's life! My own favourite tunes of the night: 1. Summertime - dropped by DJGreedyG (perfect tune at the perfect moment - my number one high point of the night - Thank you G) 2. Bush war - No.1 Station - spun by the mighty Zapatoo (who would've thought that a modern band would sound so riotously good). Many many thanks to all the DJs who graced this event with their presence, their musical knowledge and their stunning record collections. Many thanks to my lovely helpers - Richard and Joe for the set-up and take-down - Ian and BMD for their wonderfully warm welcome which I feel helped set the tone for the night very nicely indeed. Many thanks to all those who took and shared photos. Many thanks to all those who so kindly bought me music, pints and clothing (really). And many thanks to all of you who came for creating such a truly convivial atmosphere - I remember lots of smiles on lots of faces. Indeed, one person who emailed me to complain about the musical direction of the night still complimented us all on creating such a nice vibe - so big up yourselves! Sami the owner was very pleased too - he liked all of you and he was very happy with the take at the bar. He emailed me first thing next morning to ask when the next one would be. The night raised enough money to pay the security guy on the door, expenses for the DJs, a trip to the seaside for my kids and a total of £105.66 for the Alpha School. Including the tax that the school claims back on donations, this finally takes the total raised for the school through MIU! type stuff - gigs, cd sales and coaster sales to four figures - a little over £1000. Anita and I had a blast and ended up discussing when we should do another before bed that night (no conclusion ) Many thanks and Big Respects to you all - you are great people to party with. Baldy. x

I haven't replied in full yet have I? Was lovely to meet you all, friends both old and new, big up to Baldy for putting it all together again. A great venue in a reasonably central location(even though we walked right past the turn off for it!) and a nice up for it crowd. Only thing I'd gripe about as someone already mentioned was the lack of a mic so we could hype the crowd up/introduce DJs etc.. but a small oversight that. Tune of the night for me was Jerry (aka Jack Johnson aka DJ Perilous aka Brentford Mole) dropping Jackie Mittoo's cut of "Midnight Hour" on BRA. I killed him in the next round though with Jackie's cut to "Summertime" I reckon the clash was an honourable draw and I look forward to bringing my 7"s down one day and doing it "properly". Nice sets from all DJs, could have done with more dancing early doors but it warmed up later on. I had a request to "play something groovy that you can dance to". If the young lady who asked me that wasn't moved by at least "Watch And Peep" by Scarface then she was in the wrong place IMO I also had the usual problem that I encounter at events of chatting to people for several minutes then forgetting their names. I think there may have been a few chaps there from the Trojan board as they seemed to know of me. If you chatted to me it was nice to meet you and thanks for coming along and giving a few quid towards Alpha Boys School. Now I'm off to hide from Pilot's Granny............. Respect Gordy PS: Pics are on the Sendspace link above.

well you can't please all of the people all of the time huh? Its true G. ll you can do is try to put on your own conception of what you think would make the best party given the resources at your disposal and then go for it. The rest is in the lap of the gods. MIU! is blessed with some lovely people on the invitation list though. Respect Baldy
