Heavy and rootsy as it can be please. I've only heard a few tracks, and I like hs voice. Any good reccomendations for a Broggs newbie?

Can't help Mikey - I only have a few tracks myself He has a website - check this out... peterbroggs.com/blog/index.phpI'd heard he was very ill a couple of years back (a stroke) and down on his financial uppers - tried to help, but don't know how it went and don't know how he is now, though the website indicates he has "continuing medical needs"

Thanks joe, looks like the man must have had some serious blood pressure problems even before his stroke.
Good selection fo stuff to look for in his discography. It was actually a track on a comp you kindly sent me that has made me think about finding a few more..

Two RAS sets that are surprisingly very good and easily available are Rise & Shine and Rastafari Liveth.

Yeah I used to have that Rise and Shine on RAS and the title track is a fine example of Sly and Robbie at their most monolithic. 1985? Heavy!
I have it on CD on some dodgy NZ only compliation (Reggae Blasters 2 on Jayrem) and it doesn't sound nearly as good.

BMD...I would recommend Rastafari Liveth Intinually. Featuring Radics players with Scientist and Soljie on the mix, this release is all killer and no filler. Big Tunes include..Rastfari Liveth, International Farmer, and No ism pon the riddim. This album rates highly in my book. Respect, MK

You should check out his late 90's album on Jah Warrior - Jah Golden Throne
Pure, pure killer! Title track is a phenomenal reworking of his 70's hit.
