William Farley And Dennis Bovell "Reggae Train" via yousenditI bought the three volumes of Music For Dancefloors, which are out of print compilations of dance music from many genres that came out circa 2000 on the now defunct Strut label. Check out this Bovell dub. It sounds like an alternative version of "Reflections," which came out on his I Wah Dub album. The liner notes of the KPM volume of Music For Dancefloors are kind of vague, so I'm not sure if this is a previously unreleased version or what. Hope you enjoy it!

Thanks for posting that Richteratmosphere - I was suprised how much I liked that dub - fairly simple and gritty.

I'm a big Bovell dub fan. The only Bovell stuff from the early 80's era that I haven't really liked are his songs on the Babylon soundtrack. They sound kind of like Dennis Bovell producing a progressive jazz reggae combo.
The Winston Edwards And Blackbeard Dub Conference album is much better for a Bovell fix I think.
Glad you liked the song!

That's funny, you describe the "Babylon" soundtrack pretty accurate, but I do enjoy these songs pretty much. Different strokes...

Richter,
Don't know why I half block myself when it comes to artists like Dennis Bovel - guess I unfairly say, 'since they aint super rooted in JA', then to the side they go.
But I'm slowly trying/recovering from pegging artists b/c of their homeland.
I recently rediscovered the LKJ in Dub lp [vol 1?] - always set it off b/c I thought it was too UK sounding. Well, played it again and it suprised me how good it was. Screw where it was recorded, ehh. Of course I had no idea that Dennis Bovell had such a heavy hand it that one.
Also re: D Bovell - are you aware of an Var Artists lp called "Sabor De Reggae Vol. 2" [produced by DB]?
Bout half vocal ~ half instrumental/dub. Bovell sings a few, then tags his dub/inst stuff under the name 'Sufferer Sound' - which according to the lp, Sufferer Sound is Bovell and a fella named Errol Francis...
Some ok stuff on the lp - makes me wonder what's up with Vol 1 [more D Bovell productions?]
Anyways, your initial sound sample REALLY got me rethinking my D Bovell stance....thanks.
