Not heard too much by this guy. Is the Judah Eskender Tafari - Rastafari Tell You (w. 7 Bonus Dub Tracks) Gussie P label - a good place to start? I notice it's on Ernie B's at the moment. Cheers!

Best to start with his six songs for Studio One from 1978.

I agree...he is best known for his limited studio one output (i wonder if there is an album worth?)..however, if you can't get a hold of those singles or album cuts (one is on Pirate's Choice)..then the Gussie P album is ok..I will buy it but it is not as good as the Studio One output (even though he does do a few songs over for Gussie P)
By far..he is the one artist that I would love to see a Studio One lp from..

2 of his Studio 1 singles are available on comps..
'Rastafari Tell You' on Best Of Studio 1 Vol. 1 (Heartbeat) and Studio 1 DiscoMix (Soul Jazz)
'Jah Light' on Pirates Choice (Studio 1)
also 'Always Trying' has recently been repressed on Studio 1 7"

There's also a wicked 12" of his Every Day Is Another Day on the Winro label from a few years ago.

Ian, check your Archive set, there are a number there.. Yes, I think they are all there except Danger In Your Eyes, although I was hopefully helping by saying what I know to be currently available in the shops like.

The Studio One stuff is top notch (and Coxsone promised an album decades ago, so there might be more in the vault), but not easy to get (except the one's Ian pointed out). But the Gussie P. album is a nice one, good point to start.

I like the track on the Soul Jazz album a lot. Perhaps they could put out a mini Studio One album with six tracks and some dubs or something - great project for Soul Jazz. dm
