Lion's Den run things with a selection of reggae old and new. Occasional visits from the Stalawatt crew, and guest selectors as and when. Greedy G, Dr Cool Breeze - how ya fixed? YMS - not sure that we've seen you down here, but you're welcome any time. Everyone else, whether in Newcastle or elsewhere - you're welcome too, of course Fusion, New Bridge Street, 8pm or thereabouts 'til late. UPDATEFriday night's session is no more. The venue's reverting to the usual fare in an attempt to boost the bar take. Bland music, queue jumpers for the club next door and cheap shots at the bar... Some promotion might have been a better idea.

Cool, is this an ongoing thing now mate?
I'll be down now and then no probs as both selector and punter.

Yes, should be a regular weekly thing, from this Friday on.
I'll only be there now and then myself.
On a Friday, that is - I'll still be around every Wednesday.
Catch you soon.
Respect,
PapaS

Not sure if it will be on this week (20 April), as Lucky Dube's at the Cluny same night. Will check back and confirm.

This week is definitely on.
Next week is Greedy G's and Papa S's birthday celebration. Will probably mean a later start while we all go out for a curry, which we'll make up for with a later finish so we can still drink too much beer ;D

Wednesday nights are still happening, of course. Should be busy tonight now that the students have just about all finished their exams. Good tunes, friendly regulars and later on, lots of pretty young things in short skirts. What more could you ask for?

I'll try and make it down next Wednesday.
We need to try and get something going on a weekend.
Panagea always seem to have something on the go, what's their secret?

Be good to see you down there, G. Likely to be pretty quiet, mind - the students seem to have nicked off pretty sharpish after their exams. Last night wasn't particularly busy (though the rain may have had something to do with it).
No idea what Pangaea are up to, tbh. Dubstep stuff, probs. Haven't actually heard from Glenn for a while.
Looking at a weekend thing at a different venue, though...
Albert told me last night that the police finally withdrew their objection to Fusion's extension, so that wall's coming down sometime during the summer. Should improve it as a venue - and hopefully make it easier to promote!
Respect,
