The Port-O-Jam crew present a night that showcases the very best of Jamaican music from the dawn of the sound systems through to today. Set in an authentic 1960's nightclub which still retains a flavour of it's original decor.

Christ, me and the missus spent a Sat night in Folkestone once and when we tried to go to a local club the bouncers took one look at us and told us not to bother, we wouldn't like it... I'm sure they were right.
Things change...
Good luck at the scooter rally!

Good luck, Mr Jam (which, coincidentally is what my 3 year old calls my 7 month old, for no apparent reason), hope it goes well.
Can't make it, I'm afraid (of Folkestone)...

We had a great time! Got home just after 3am. My ears are still ringing! Great to meet Paul (P-O-J) again and great to meet Phil (Enthucol) - I look forward to seeing you both another time, another place Nice venue, although the in-house sound-system could have sounded a bit cleaner. Some super Ska and late 60's Reggae were dropped by Paul, Phil and Lawrie C, Kev (Nunny?) and Tiny T. Great to hear old favorites like "What's Your Excuse?", "Hold Down" / "Sic Him Rover", "John Jones", "54-46", "Dreadnought", "What You Gonna Do?", "Enjoy Yourself", "Dr. Jekell" etc. etc. ...also a good few I have but couldn't remember and others I didn't know... ...and hearing some old Soul tunes so beloved of UK Jamaicans back in the mid-60s added a dimension to the musical diet (Willie Tee's WALKING UP A ONE WAY STREET was one - I can't remember the others, though not-played songs like Robert Parker's I CAUGHT YOU IN A LIE, the Astors' CANDY and Darrell Banks' OPEN THE DOOR TO YOUR HEART are other fine examples) Excellent to hear the late Disco of Cheryl Lynn's ENCORE, but was certainly not expecting to hear some of Kylie's CAN'T GET YOU OUT OF MY HEAD - the video would have been nice
