www.globalgrooving.com/doorjam.ramThe show is on the front page today (Mon 29th). Press the "Click to Listen" button & will be in the archive section from tomorrow. Lots of mid to late 70's 12", new roots, the funky break & in the 2nd hour a 1 to 1 ska to 69 clash Just to add to the confusion, last months show is still in the archive section. This months (May) will be there from Tue 30th. (The above url takes you to the archive show)

Tuned in mate while I'm doing the housework! Are you really not allowed to say the word "skinhead"? What's the world coming to? Respect Gordy

It's a long story Gordy, about the term 'skinhead reggae' which at the time (69/70) was just called plain old 'reggae'. Recently it has become a common discription about the timeframe 69-71. I mantioned it was a term I disliked a couple of shows back and someone took acception to it - everyone is entitled to their opinion. So now it's become a bit of an in joke on the show

Ah I see!
I've always looked upon the music from 69-71 as "Skinhead" reggae.
I know where you're coming from though... we don't refer to roots as "rastaman" reggae or bashment as "Yardie" reggae, do we?
Respect
Gordy
