Hello all, After almost three years at podomatic, I've decided to move to a new place. The main reason is the fact that since recently podomatic doesn't allow comments from non-members anymore. I love getting comments and be able to read that people dig the vibes. I do not make my contributions here for podomatic members only, so the new settings go against what I love about making this mixes. Secondly, using podomatic costs money and my new blog is free of use Third reason is the many possibilities at the new place, where I can add polls, videos and other nice gadgets. All in all, it was time to try something new. I moved my pro-podomatic account back to a regular one and will keep it online like that for now to upload only the latest mix and to be able to use their player elsewhere. The new place can be found at: bettermustcome.blogspot.comSo edit your bookmarks! That's where the fun will be. Instead of using the podomatic server, I will now make use of online upload-sites like zshare to get my mixes to you. We'll see how it'll work out! For now, check out the new place with so far all tracklists of previous mixes posted. Audio only for a few. By request I can upload some of the others, leave a comment over there so I can see if there's interest in a specific mix. Also, fill in the poll, curious to see what about BMC's Reggae Mixes you enjoy the most. Hope to see / read you all there! bettermustcome.blogspot.com/Cheers, BMC

Good luck with the move Marc, let us know how it goes. I agree with you with the change of the comment access, although you can still get your listeners to email you through the podomatic site, and I always seem to get more emails than comments for some reason. Also will you get listener stats through your blog, as I do like that aspect of podomatic aswell, even though they don't always seem that reliable or accurate! Anyways, I hope you can keep doing the 80's DJ mixes, as I like the ones you've done so far, aswell as the new release mixes of course. Cheers, Ian

Hey Ian,
For me it was the other way around: mainly comments and sometimes email. But that was just one of the reasons, I like the idea of having one site with everything on it that I can keep on adding to. Not just mixes, but maybe videos, polls, top-lists, reviews etc. I do keep my podomatic account in case I regret moving it all over. The blog doesn't have listener stats, but on zshare where I upload the mixes you can see the number of times an mp3 is downloaded. The other stats in podomatic hardly ever changed for me, so can live without 'm (i.e. most downloads from Western Europe and East and Westcoast US etc.). And as said, another advantage is that the blog is free of use. We'll see how it goes.
Love to make more 80s DJ mixes, but haven't really got a plan for one. The ones already done were clearly prominent in the collection so the idea came by itself. Currently working on a next early-mid 80s mix, various artists.
Cheers, Marc

Hm, found this nice little free tool which you have to implement in the html code of the blog after which all traffic to the site is monitored and stored, so you can see the number of visits, the location of visitors, the time they spend on the site etc. Pretty cool. Zshare does give the number of downloads too, but I've been told zshare aint as good for everyone as it is for me (never had problems with it), so don't know if I'll have an idea on downloads of a mix when using a different upload-site. So far I'm well pleased with all the possibilities of a blog like this.
