Message mainly to the Powah behind the machinery...

I'll be blunt,

Broadcasting corner, a bad idea to begin with I thought is now the backwater I thought it would become, non one who we'd all like to listen is litening, even less visiting here to find out about where they could visit for a listen, instead it's only us Podcasters etc, who come on here to pull each others plums in a mutual excercise of masturbatory self loathing...

I'll be even more blunt, was this Zap's idea?
It's just the kind of thing that dulls me to bits over Trojan way and puts pay to a site where everything is mainstream and accesible to all.... I never like this seperation into sub groups that seems fashionable, why can't Dylan fans listen to Reggae podcasts and want to talk about Zoki's Dildo fascinations? Sorry Joe, I know you'll think I'm rude, just pointing out where I'd do it different, just a stylistic choicing you see? I hope so...

PLEASE can I start telling the unconverted, who exist midstream and not in this eddying backwater about what I/We are doing... or do you want to keep us here in 'Broadcasting (Dead End) Alley'

It wasn't originally a sub-board. It was prominent in the music section below "all other music". I didn't think it made sense to put it in here because it meant that non-Jamaican style podcasts would be in a JA music section.

For comparison's sake, the links to the soundtapes are put in the JA music section and on a few other boards as well. They get very little response and those are historical pieces.

I think the board is just quiet. Quite a few of the old familiars seem to be M.I.A. or very low profile.

Just to see if this was my imagination I had a look at the last 50 posts. 81 people logged on yesterday and managed only 38 posts in those 24 hours. Internet fatigue, maybe?

Cash is short and buying music is more expensive now. I know I've bought practically nothing for myself since the pound went into freefall.

We haven't changed the structure of the board since we took it on, Mikey. What was there then remains to this day.

Whatever is changed would disappoint some, one way or another - I mean that from the context of not just here, but elsewhere also (there's a "movement" for a separation of broadcast-related posts over at Trojan too, since it was voted positively in favour, I'll accede to that request and make a "sticky" topic for these).

However, anything that will brighten up this place is worth considering.

Personally, I rarely listen to podcasts, as I don't usually have the time - silence can be precious and worthwhile too.

Here's one vote to keep the section as is....I check in here regularly to grab a fresh stream at work, and regularly repost links elsewhere to turn others on to your podcasts. I can't be bothered to read through all the music threads to find podcasts.
