Gryffe, you know that the New Order re-issues are to be re-issued in the New Year? Sound quality issues... what do you think they sound like?

Benj - the "main" albums are fine - its the bonus discs that are at fault, but even then I dont think they sound too bad. apparently some of the singles/outtakes/remixes were sourced from vinyl in some instances - which is pretty shocking for a band as established as new order

I've been trying to catch up on my pending pile this year, Gryffe. However after Benj's very generous gift of two speakers, I expect a similar lack of adventure will not be repeated next year. In the meantime here are five from this year that I have enjoyed (in no particular order):
"Dreams of Breathing Underwater" - Eliza Carthy (Topic) "Greatest Hits" - Habel Kifoto and Maroon Commandos (Sound Africa) "Francophonic" - Franco et Le TPOK Jazz (Sterns) "Matachin" - Bellowhead (Navigator) "The Syliphone Years" - Balla et Ses Balladins (Sterns) "Nigeria Special 1970-1976" - Various Artists (Soundway)
- Ho hum, can't count. Make that 6 from this year.

mine are, in no particular order Bon Iver - For Emma, Forever Ago Just been looking at some other albums of the year and this cropped up. Also seen a clip on youtube. I take it that this is highly recommended gryffe ....? Anyone else heard this before I purchase ? The guy has an unusual voice, similar but different to Will Oldman.

And, as always, the rest I will have to check out after the new year. I very much expect to add the Kasai Allstars album to the list, and also a couple of those Honest Jons archive compilations. At least them.
