After hearing the 'best of Matumbi' I thought I'd never wanna even say their name again, let alone give them another listen... But I was very suprised to like a couple of songs from this one.....[Testify]....couldn't believe it was the same band? Sly and Robbie are listed on this lp so that didn't hurt anything...and the lead singer seemed to improve [compared to best of]....I thought three songs were VERY good - with two others worthy of recording too. Anyone have any comments on this album??? Favorite songs...[thanks to Roots Archive for the lp cover]

I have their first album - untitled and uncredited, it was released on Rama back in 1977 and touted as being by the "$th. Street Orchestra". Nice album too: I wonder...have any/all of these tracks appeared on a CD anywhere (apart from the one I made ;D)

I think Matumbi have released several beautiful tunes such as After Tonite, Bluebeat & Ska and Above all, one of my fave roots reggae tunes ever : Empire Road! sure they don't sound like JA artists from the same era.So what ?

one of the re-released lps will be "rama scientific higher ranking dub", another "yuh learn", the third "Ah who seh ? go-deh!" (your tracklist from above) and a 4th i can't recall at the moment.
have no access to dustygroove at the moment.

Interesting info, Mario - thanks. We'll see if dustygroove are as good as their word I don't have the "Reggae on Tempus" sets, though I've seen them about...
