for those who are interested in this good DJ-chanter who didn't develop his style in daddy's shadow (unlike some others) is about to record his first album (afaik) on the second week of april in Paris. The musicians should be the Homegrown Band (the guys who back Horace Andy in Europe), so one is to expect a rootsy dancehall album but some 3 bashy tunes with digital programming should also be included.the album should be released before the summer.

Omar Perry and his mum Pauline have spent the past 25 years eating off all those tapes they nicked from Black Ark. Rather fitting that he should have ended up with another crook like AMS.

Omar Perry did record at least 2 tunes for A. Sherwood, one of which was released on 7". He also appeared on Ghetto Priest's album. He's a DJ with a nice flow.
I suppose the french sessions have nothing to do with those recordings though.

jb, my remark had nothing to do with your initial comments. Please, read again : "as for the rest..." and i also write in the original post : "...is ABOUT TO record an ALBUM".i don't call that "a new release BUT a forthcoming release"!
