Got a tune on a label called Temper Rose, prod. Anthony Red Rose Johnson. 1986. It's a nice Dancehall vocal group thing. But I have not clue who the I-sees were, and enither does RKR etc.
Anyone?

I know! I know!
The I-Sees were a female back up trio who were all originally optometric assistants. I believe they released the original version of 'I Can See Clearly Now' but never quite reached the fame they envisioned.
Glad to be of help...

Were they in any way related to the Male Vocal Group 'The Specsavers'? As recorded in the late 70s by Prince Myopia.

Why, yes they were! Many considered them the male equivalent to the I-Sees but after the Prince dropped from sight they couldn't get a record deal until the punk movement came along and they reformed as a duo under their new moniker 'The Testicles'. They were considered up and comers under the tutelage of new producer Big Five but things turned blue for them for lack of live gigs and they ultimately disbanded to return to their former lives as opticians in Kingston. Lead singer Gonad the Barbarian later tried his hand at a solo career but record sales drooped considerably as he just couldn't go it alone and he was left a broken shell of his former self. They were however considered a potent force in their day and only now have hardcore punk collectors discovered their masterwork, The Viagara Chronicles, originally issued on the Stiff Records label. Reliable sources have informed me that Bob Hardong at BAF has now re-issued this work inna reggae style in limited quantities as a 12 inch remaster. Look for it on the BAF website if you can still find it. Sales are rising rapidly I'm told.
