Hi Mikey, that is you(?)
Penny was over earlier to drop off some tunes and I played him that Tony Mahoney - Burn False Preacher tune, you remember the one with ruff dj version on it, well that is the same Tony Mahoney who's now in the Blackstones. Just thought you'd like to know. Also where did you buy it from...Dub Vendor???

I just came back to this post to bump it, a FANTASTIC cd, can't get enough of it.. many many plays now and fresh fresh fresh,... GET IT.
Brilliant Ian, nice to finally find out who the singer on that tune is... as you thought it looks like it was a UK prod. NOW - if we can just find what mindwarp of a Engineer dubbed up the thing we'll be swinging...
in regards to this I've just written to the group saying thanks for the album and asking about this tune in the hop he could i.d. it.. you never know, if his memory is good... we may well find out !!!
and yes I is the Tampa Nugget..
and yes I got it from DV. I have yet to see it for sale elsewhere too..

Mikey, the engineer was Johnny Lynch, owner of the Black Star label and also the Black Star Studio from his house in Tottenham, where the track was voiced.

Cheers Scotty, it's nice to piece these things together,... anyway I sent them an e-mail just to say how much I was enjoying the cd, and to ask about that tune.

Tony Mahoney is the brother of Desmond Mahoney, the drummer from Black Slate. There is yet another brother called Johnnie Mahoney who cut some sides for Winston Curtis's Saturn label, also during the mid 1970s.
