a topic of much debate. came on a mafiatone 7and a punch 7 and also, the copy i have, a star 12 credited to one glen miller. my long time friend daddy studio one always claimed it was the wailers minus bob, many others, the wailing souls (minus pipe ? or at least not the lead voice ??). monster tune either way. i first heard it at a house party in birmingham from a family box and then rodigan played it first up the first time i saw him in 2001. i paid a pretty penny at a peckings auction for my copy in march 2002 and played it out for the very first time only last wednesday at vinyl splashdown. just the 15 years gestation on that one. T.

first heard the tune on the first singers and players LP many yrs ago - the real one was also reissued a few yrs a go- the twelve on star crops up now and again and doesn't seem to go for too much ............

So who's singing lead then Toby? It sure ain't Peter and it sure ain't Bunny. Perhaps it's Glen Miller!

It used to go for quite a bit but the Mafiatone repress a few years ago seemed to depress the price - not always the case when there is a repress around but it was this time. It may also be that it had been a big revival tune for such a long time that people got a little bored of it.

I have recently found a copy of this one on Blank/green labels with MAFIA scratched matrix (same of the ebay link by greedypuppy) , it looks like a 70's press but i'm absolutely not sure! The fact that part of the matrix is scrathed make me think to an old bootleg!
Have to admit that in around 12 years i listen to this music i have seen the Mafiatone 7'' around 1000 times but i never put my attention to it! When i found that blank i spent a few days to understand it was Dungeon...probably if i found it with labels i was not going to pay the attention it deserve....but well...I LOVE THAT TUNE! Good to discover those classics after a while you listen roots music!
