I don't need Billy Bragg to tell me how to spend my money. In fact, I've never bought the Sun in my life, though I haver frequently done the Sundance. This consists in finding a discarded copy of this unspeakable rag and stomping over it until it disintegrates.
In fact, I've never bought the News Of The World, nor People, nor Star, nor Telegraph, nor Daily Mail nor Daily Express. On leaving school I used to buy the Daily Mirror, but had given this up by the end of the 1960s. I would occasionally buy the Guardian in the week and the Sunday Times or Observer on a Sunday. Mostly, I used to buy the Evening News or Standard, both of them London newspapers. Of a Saturday afternoon at 6pm, I would buy a classified pink for the football results.
However, I have not bought a newspaper for more than 20 years. Their time has passed!
