Sunday 18 July WORLD IN MOTION DAY 1–7pm, Shoreditch Park, Free The Barbican Centre and the Guildhall School collaborate with Shoreditch Trust to bring WORLD IN MOTION to Shoreditch Festival for a day created by young people for everyone, featuring live music, dance and film. Performances will include UK hip hop dance talents from Boy Blue Entertainment, rising Hackney eight-piece band Lazy Habits, and a special Roots of Reggae at Shoreditch Festival programme featuring Caribbean artists The Viceroys, Gilzene and The Blue Light Mento Band and Bomba Estereo on the main stage. For more info go to... www.shoreditchfestival.org.uk/sunday-18.aspxAlso later that day, Earl 'Chinna' Smith will be at the Barbican (supporting Youssou N'Dour) doing his acoustic Inna De Yard set alongside nyahbinghi drumming and a few vocalists, who I imagine will also include the Viceroys, as they'll be in the area... That's Landford Gilzene, leader of the BL Mento band. Alongside The Viceroys for free, wow, London People, don't miss that one ! 2 very good live acts.
