Dave Grusin's Mountain Dance saw me through the first coffee of the day at work.
Laid back heaven!

vijay iyer - revolutions, off the album "reimagining" issued by the recently resureccted savoy label.
iyer is from south india, but raised in the states. he plays piano and on this et is accompanied by drums, base and alto. i was intruiged as to wether there would be much of an indian influence in his music; but his playing is fairly straight modern/hard bop style. his drummer and bassist do play around with the rhythms and time though, which does lend a bit of indian influence to the sound.
a good discovery for me. been listening to the album a lot over the past few days.
