Ive just got into the hiphop game again after a 10 years decay and I can say MF Doom alongside Dangermouse and Jay Dee is sounding well wicked.

What's MF Doom like? Is he gangsta rap or more like Dilated Peoples and Jurassic 5?

I like Madlib, who's produced some of MF Doom's output. I personally don't rate MF Doom too highly. There's some wit to his lyrics, but he's too monotone for me.
My pick today is Madlib's Beat Konducta Vol. 1 & 2

UMC's - Fruits Of Nature
One of the most slept on albums ever, top notch jazzy hip hop with nuff Blue Note samples.

Hip-hop album of the day for me, out of the perhaps three I own.

Low Profile with the album »We're in This Thing Together«. One of my favourite LPs! Hard as hell and I can't for the life of me grasp why the album isn't mentioned more. Certified classic!
Except for the Low P album I'm almost only spinning the Coup nowadays. Boots Riley is hands down the most intelligent MC out there.

Genius/GZA - Liquid Swords - an album that's hard as nails and brimming with wicked beats. Should be compulsory listening.
