I'm not surprised at your reaction, Gordy. Though I can't understand why Disco remains pilloried and vilified after so many years - maybe the pop-pap tunes that crept in trying to pass themselves off as Disco business didn't help. I'm also not convinced that populist movies like "Saturday Night Fever" did the movement any favours either - musically (IMO) "Thank God It's Friday" was much better.... Yes, glitzy clothes, disco mirror balls (I've got one!!!), big hair and lionels abounded - but there were loads of seriously good tunes around. From my point of view, Disco was the place to meet the girls (not that I was a winner in that area ) and lightened my musical life - the mid-70s roots sound wasn't exactly uplifting me then, though I've come to appreciate this sound/era a lot more in the last 15 years And arguably, Disco helped to give rise to Punk and 2-Tone - its very anitheses maybe - and the slightly later electro fashion of the early 80s (Spandau Ballet, Visage etc.) I have to add that I've hesitated about issuing a Disco instrumental selection...just for the reaction it might have got. Notice I didn't "award" it a volume number, leaving it as a "Special" So I'll not send you a copy then?... ;D BTW - I'm listening now - to Giorgio Moroder's 13 minute epic "CHASE" - my tune of the day and one that gets under your skin in the best possible way
