You all should check out Afu Ra, coming out of NYC. This artist came up as a part of the "Grouphome" clique with Jeru the Damaja coming out of brooklyn during rap's golden era in the early '90s. The grouphome were a crew of younger artists functioning under the guidance of Guru and DJ Premier of GangStarr. Afu Ra has got an infectious style and keeps his lyrical content conscious while touching on some hard hitting subject matter. His release "Life Force Radio" came out a few years back featuring some big tracks including a collaboration with Kymani Marley and others. If you are feeling burnt on the state of hip-hop in '06, I would reccommend picking up Life Force Radio and checking out Afu Ra's style. He has a more recent album out from last summer that I still need to check out. Here are some video clips I found.. www.youtube.com/results?search=afu+ra&search_type=search_videos&search=Search
