After seeing the recent film based on JC's life my better half was insistent I gather together some tracks for her on cassette, recorded from my vinyl collection.

Johnny Cash was one of the first singers I liked. Must have been 7 or 8 when I put on the San Quentin album. Odd that we had it, as he wasn't my parents' cup of tea.
I loved "Boy Named Sue" and can still hear Johnny Cash singing "My name is Sue, how do you do" as the convicts went nuts. A classic father-son story.
And a great selection above...

Plenty of space left on the casette for Five Feet High and Rising pilot, but I don't have it on vinyl!
I believe the next line after "My name is Sue, how do you do," is "...and now your going to die!" to whoops and laughter from the audience. Didn't realize that one was performed and recorded in front of a jailhouse audience, but then again I couldnt' see a response like that from a staid and well-behaved Grand Ole Opry crowd!

There's a fantastic TV clip of Johnny doing Boy Named Sue, where he stares down the camera when he gets to that line - just electrifying. He looks pretty fried but it is like hearing it for the first time again. A few suggestions if you've still got room on the tape: "Big River", "Long Black Veil", "Hey Porter" and "One Piece at a Time"
