well,just a few words to let you know that she has just released an interesting live in paris album on a french label. i didn't listent to the whole disc but it really sound good (seems like the band is european).

Gwen McCrae's gig was cancelled here in Helsinki last August because of illness. My bad, because I would really liked to see her on stage.

with that raspy voice, you can't go wrong, maybe tougher than on her classics, but good to my ears, still.nice packaging too, the album was recorded in may during her euro tour.it was done in a fairly small cozy venue which often has a warm atmosphere, a club called the New Morning, lots of jazz and blues luminaries played there, but also JA acts as diverse as the skatalites, sanchez, ernie ranglin & monty alexander,justin hinds, ward 21, vegas, leonard dillon, rico, and many others...

i'll see that i can locate a copy.saw a few reissues at a friend 's record shop. fairly cheap.Maybe that one is on one of them.I only knew her from compilations and some live performance i saw on tv some time ago ( ireally wonder whether it was not that gig on the CD)

I have this on UK President (PT 416 - the B side of "It's Worth The Hurt" 1974), but don't remember it all - time to dig this out and give both sides a spin, methinks
