as far as covers go, i can think of : Ken Boothe's Mustang Sally and You Keep Me Hanging On Silvertones : in the midnight hour (heard other ones i can't point at, wasn't Cornell Campbell one of them ) Austin faithful : 634-5789 i wonder if there wasn't a Keith Poppin tune Delroy Wilson covered Hey Jude, just like Wilson P and i can hear the nananana gimmick of Land of 1000 dances on Ini Kamoze 's Hot Stepper. that's what comes to my mind without further research. any more ideas thanks

The Silvertones seemed to be very keen on Wilson Pickett's tunes. In The Midnight Hour, Tear Drops Will Fall & Take A Little Love. First three tracks on 1966 In The Midnight Hour album

Slivertones recut Midnight Hour in the 70s for Winston Riley. Respect Gordy ...didn't they also re-cut this for Duke Reid - the version on "Hottest Hits Volume 1" isn't the same recording... ...or please correct me... ...and I prefer Wilson's "634-5789" to Otis's

I am In Love and Funky Broadway seem to have been covered too but can't remebember by whom.thanks

lankou2 - Cornel Campbell did "I'm In Love" though I don't know if it's the same as Pickett's - I have both, but only Wilson's to hand, so can't compare... Delroy Wilson covered "Funky Broadway"

thanks Zap, i have Delroy 's cover somewhere but couldn't remember it (though he is one of my fave singers, shame on me!!!!). i have the same problems with comparing tunes as i don't know where i put my WP records (not that i have too many, but the classic hits!)

Hmmm! The Cornel Campbell "I'm In Love" doesn't sound like the same song as WP's... Delroy's "Funky Broadway" (on Soul Jazz Studio One Funk) owes itself more to Stevie Wonder's "Uptight (Everything's Alright)" than WP's "Funky Broadway" ...and includes references to "Mustang Sally"

originally recorded by Barbara Lynn, anyway! Actually, first recorded by Don Varner, according to www.originals.be, a wonderful site with reliable and always self-correcting info. (and Wayne Cochran's tune of the same title is not the same song)

I always thought Dave Barker was the Wilson Pickett of reggae.
