I've seen both Son Seals and Albert King and old Albert would kick Sonny's butt with one hand tied behind his back. So would Buddy Guy and Freddy King and BB too! Duane Allmann and SRV represent the white boys pretty well and Johnnie Winter ain't bad either. Derek Trucks, son of Butch from the Allmans has been touring since he's 15 and he's still and up and comer. Don't forget Johnny Watson.
Surely Willie Dixon has to be on everybody's top ten. Leave it to a bassie to write all the good tunes.
I saw John Lee one night and he was so drunk he couldn't tune up; not that it mattered.

I toyed with the thought of Willie Dixon but dismissed him, seeing the man more a songwriter than performing artist. I've never liked the blues of the many Kings and left Johnny Winter and Duane Allman behind me 35 years ago.

Willie was a good player and performer; he could rock a house. Don't like the Kings? Wow, that's a rarity. The white boys would fall into the B league I agree, I just stuck 'em in to be politically correct.

I never saw Albert King until about a year before he died. But I saw Son Seals a number of times in bars in Toronto and Chicago. So the atmosphere was just perfect.
In terms of songwriting, Willie Dixon is a master.
