Posted my first legal podcast today- subject Jackie Mittoo. Anyway, I say legal because I took a crack at using some mixing software finally, would like to know what those who have experience with this kind of thing think. Any feedback, tips, ideas (man, once you get started with this stuff it is limitless innit ?)pictures of dildos- whatever... is appreciated. Like I said, this is the first time I have used it, so it may be a little choppy and I definately kept the tricks down to a minimum. If you don't have experience with mixing software, give it a listen anyway, I think it is a hell of a set of one of the greatest musicians to ever sit down at an instrument ;D Cheers AD

What software did you use?
I burn tunes to CD (or rip from CD/CDR) then use Virtual DJ. Well I did before my hiatus!

I've bookmarked it for a listen tomorrow, Dave...
...and I don't very often listen to podcasts - there are just too many by good folk in here and elsewhere...

Gordon- I used Audacity because I found that I could get thousands of effect for it, written specifically for the software. In fact, it seemed way better then anything I couyld have spent money on. Zap...I appreciate that because as many good folks are in this place, I value your impressions highly- Thank You

UGHHHH- never mind, something between my computer, it's conversion to MP3 and the upload went haywire, skip crackle pop. I think it is an artifact of doing the entire show and then compressing 45 minutes of music (this took a long time) but I am not sure- anyway, I pulled it for now because Freddy listened and found the problem (and pointed it out to ignorant me- the original is fine on my PC) - I will upload it again when I fix it, but any ideas on what might be going on would be greatly appreciated FOr now, I am going to drink beer and stream profanity, because it really took me forever and to have it crash in flames because of the software was not my intention

Once our sessions are mixed in analog ,i use steinberg software for mastering ready for wav or mp3 useage ,it's a great software package and has brilliant de hiss filters ,not a great deal in the way of effects ,but I tend to use the traditional analog style effect units for a warmer sound anyway, although i alway's use the reverb facility on steinberg to open up the sound a touch when mastering I use a Yamaha 4 track analog mixer which has nice sounding EQ controls ,Echo unit is an Ibanez.

I use Wavelab for all of my audio adventures. It does everything from recording to EQ-ing to adding echo and special effects and outputting MP3s. I suppose there are programs that do more than Wavelab for podcasting/mixing, but I see no reason to switch when I get good results with Wavelab.

I will have to try that one Sleeper- for now I am burried in figuring this one out, and I think I have it. I cut it into 5 smaller doses before conversion and that seems to have gotten all the debris I had out. Listening now and the fades and effects are the only real obvious things that stick out At about 46 mins I tried out an effect that I like, but my wife says is annoying- I apologize if she is right on that. Anyway- if you guys still have some time to hear some Mittoo...seems the only pops clicks and burps left are from the originals (and that is as it should be). So far- the worst of it is that the songs I used from Wishbone are WAYYYY to high and I had a hell of a time getting them down (and failed)-fortunately one is at the end where it sounds less out of place...Dry Wine is just going to blow someones ears out (maybe I should put a disclaimer on the page Cheers AD
