Kiboshed at the same time the board went kaput? Soon to be rescued from oblivion at Podomatic a la Chatty Mouth?
I think unless I start getting enough donations to pay for another year there, Sleeper's Record Shack will disappear when my subscription runs out. I enjoy doing them, but at the moment they seem more like an obligation than a joy. I have enough on my production plate doing Radio Scratch and a weekly radio show.

Stopped doing it a few days ago.
Nothing to do with my recent meltdown.
More to do with the fact that I get a couple of thousand listeners (I think 20,000 is inaccurate as I seemed to get lots of hits from Japan and about 5 downloads from there) and hardly anyone bothers to say thanks or comment on the selections.
They encourage you to get donations and then you get like 5 or 6.
Respect to everyone who enjoyed my selections and donated and who bigged me up on here but I'm losing my passion.
On the subject of my meltdown, I dunno if I'll bring the podcast back as I feel uneasy about doing selections for people who probably hate my ass big time and over what? A message board?

Gordy, if you continue to be a sad sack and stop your podcasting, then the haters have won.
All this ego tripping about the number of downloads and lack of comments or donations - cha! If I worried about that shit at Sleeper's Record Shack, I would have pulled the plug long ago. It's not a popularity contest, it's about sharing the music that you love. I don't even bother looking at my stats any more. I know that a few hundred people around the world are digging my podcasts, and that's enough for me.
The race is not for the swift but who can endure.

G- Thousands of downloads is more already way more recognition than most people get in their lives no?
Plus - if loads of your listers are Japanese - they don't even have the same letters on their keyboards so its going to be hard for them to thank you.
Respect

I might bring it back one day. At the moment I'm cutting down my outgoings though. I've saved 20 quid a month by cutting a few subscriptions.

It will be back, but right now every quid saved is a big help.
(And yes, I know I got to stop buying tunes for a couple of months!)

I don't get as many listeners as mobtown but if you want to throw down something (just got the itch) feel free to occupy some of my bandwidth too.
