I didn't have to fill out any of that info. Well maybe address. But not credit card info. Are you sure you signed up for the right thing?

I didn't have to fill out any of that info. Well maybe address. But not credit card info. Are you sure you signed up for the right thing? You need to specify that info (method of payment - cc isn't the only option you can choose) when you create an iStore account, which is needed to submit a podcast to their directory. Maybe it wasn't like that before, but the only way to go now as far as I could see. (I registered to iStore after all, cause I installed iTunes and wanted to download albumcovers from them, free service, and you need an account for that. No use for the podcast though, cause they rejected mine too. Oh well.)

By the way, the email address they use with the 'rejected' message really made me laugh: itunesabuse@apple.com Our podcasts are seen as itunes abuse ;D

I find it weird that some of the tops show and the shows with the most friends are the ones that spam you alot with friend requests. Like Dave Rabbit and Danger Zone that have a format that has no peaking interest to my show and/or the majority of my fan base. Yeah, I tend to ignore the multiple requests of these "friend whores"

FUCK OFF SPAMMER.
This is the fourth message of this type to appear recently.
I'm sorry but if we're going to be attacked by spammers like this then there's gonna have to be some "border control".....
I'll ask Freddy and CD first of course.

Your number 78 in itunes for Reggae. How can you see rankings in iTunes?

i think it's if you arrange the shows searched for with a 'Reggae' search string and then arrane by popularity perhaps, that's my best guess...
AS REGARDS POPULARITY, we're all in the top twenty if you are going by genre of Jamaican music!!!

mine doesn't show up under reggae for some reason. I can find it by name, or by Iman or by WHPK. I'll have to figure out where the search words are coming from...

Strange, but nice ofcourse. Can't quite figure out their search either though, Algo, so if you find out, please let us know.

Mick Sleeper must be making new shows in his sleep... Yes I. I go for quality and quantity. A new show every week since February, that's pretty good. However, the unstoppable Sleeper train might slow down in the next couple of weeks, as I am moving at the end of the month and only have a few extra shows in the can...

I can only post a show once every few weeks now as my bandwidth is always gobbled up within about 10 days of posting a new show. This has just happened to us. What happens if you try to listen online? I tried, the thing plays but I don't hear any sound! Is that normal? Just tried it again and all works well. Now almost 1Gb over the bandwidth limit. Do you get diasabled over a certain limit? Reading the interesting bits about the top 100, how are the stats collated? Is it by downloads or what? Lots of questions I know but we only ever did it to make our old GlobalGrooving shows available, and thought why not post a few new ones! Hence the questions to the most learned panel 'bout town

I think it goes on downloads yes, that's why Mikey and Tim are high up and I'm in the middle somewhere as I only get about 5 to 6 thousand downloads a week.

Stats aren't just collated by downloads and feedviews on podomatic, if you look on their site it ways that the top 100 has a lot to do with unique page views also, which considering 75% of my listeners are listening via itunes, doesn't help me very much!

Cause for a few weeks now, when I checked I was above you in the 'music' rankings and I don't even come close to 5 or 6 thousand downloads a week. Must be more to it.

Gordy's download stats is what caused me to think about the top 100 ratings thing in the first place. With downloads in the 1000's, the standard bandwidth allocation would soon disapear (I guess). We only ever get between 150 to 300 downloads a week. Each 2hr show is about 57Mbytes in size so I would guess the 15Gb bandwidth soon gets eaten up. Seems that PodOMatic's top 100 stats are a dark art

Portojam, many users here have the paid pro-account at podomatic, which means you have 100GB per month instead of the free 15GB. Also, speaking for myself, my shows are usually around 30MB (I always aim at around 30 min.), allowing more downloads too. So far the 100GB has been sufficient for me.

Well after reaching the dizzy heights of 7 biggest music podcast on podomatic I will now claim 1,000,000,000,000,000 listeners. And I'm f*cking sick of f*cking f*ckers dissing my f*cking figures so don't even f*cking go there!
Seriously though there is definitely something odd going on. A number of other podcasts have jumped massively including Ongaku Ska from Venezurela who are number 7 having done one podcast! and World Ska Resource who are number 8. Dance Crasher is at a lowly number 9. Pressure Drop are at 11, Mobtown Ska at number 16 and BMD radio at a lowly number 19.
If your wondering where this "success" is coming from then I'm afraid I can't really say for sure. It seems to be based on a podcather which shows on the charts as "ska" I've no idea what this is but it currently accounts for 53% of my downloads by podcatcher in the last 7 days (followed by 24% for Mozilla and 15% for itunes).
If anyone can identify this podcatcher more accurately then please let me know as I'm curious to check it out and I'm sure the rest of you will want to ride on it's coat tales too.
In the mean time you'll all be condemned to the mediocrity that only the fans of T*ttenham H*tspurs are usually used to.
