Good idea mate, they do this on other forums.
BUT, let's have a wee bit of detail as to why they're bad sellers (or even bad buyers too), can't just say someone's shit and not back it up!!!
For example: I want to bring to your attention seller ******* because he took my money and the tune hasn't arrived after 2 months and he hasn't replied to mails. (That's an example, not actually something that happened!).

I hate to say ot but soulheaven who sells hundreds of tunes has let me down twice.
For the second time I have been let down with a delivery. What really pisses me off is that I was really looking forward to receiving the 5 tunes I purchased from him. Despite his promises that he will respond to any problems the guy just will not discuss the matter and has not responded to the 3 mails I have sent him. The guy is allright as long as things run smoothly but if you hit aproblem he refuses to get involved.

I have to say John Manship Records - not for poor service but absolutely dreadful grading. I've bought from him twice and both times the M- records have been marked as in EX- and there's been writing and/or stickers on the labels which haven't been noted in the description. OK so both orders only came to thirty quid each, but that's not the point IMHO.

Man of tunes.
I paid for two 45's. They never showed up. My three emails went unanswered. Had to go to Paypal for a refund. Poor service.

To be fair to Soulheaven, he's got lots of positives too and his rating isn't the worse I've seen.
I'll keep my fingers crossed.

ok as this seems to be working, El Gordo how about taking the names and putting them in a bad ebayer list, so all can see at a glance, but only mods can access and update.

Soulheaven does lots of business and in general seems to be OK. The problems is that when somethoing does not go smoothly he is very slow to deal with correspondance and despite his promises to sort out things he never addresses issues like when records go missing in the post. I have had two problems with him yet in the main I have had no problems with other sellers. I will not be buying from Soulheaven again.

eBay seller SKABADO - i bought a GBP 25.00 record from him which was definitely overgraded (& not the 1st time it happened with him). was still quite happy with the record so i left a POSITIVE feedback saying everything OK except for the record being a bit overgraded - day later i started to receive crazy emails with curses & death threats from the guy - had to report eBay as it was really getting extreme. needless to say i'll never buy from him again...

Some unscrupulous practices here: I'd bid a decent amount for this Johnny Osbourne tune, somewhere between 15 and 30 and the seller cancelled the listing. Meaning someone offered him money to end it early, which is against eBay rules. Error in the listing my arse. cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=280104016596Respect Gordy

I'd rescently won an auction for a copy of SKA AUTHENTIC (1), the labels pictured was the early RED banner with the green line and white label, but the point is that the tunes on labels was the original tracklist with Jackie opel, Gaylads, Delroy Wilson, etc. and the cover seems to be not the original, as the tunes on there was the most common SA set. I won it for 90 USD and asked the seller to check if the tunes on labels was the same as on vinyl, and he said he ignore as he's not a ska collector, so I said to check some tunes wich tittles are easy to recognize because them are the first words on the songs, and he answered the record is all instrumental and gave me the matrix "csl-8012-a ska authentic kk mastering" the kk mastering is on the most common latest represses.

i recently won one of my very top of the top early reggae tune, given the name of the artist and group, i was only able to get it for a fairly expensive price - which i usually don't accept-, but that one was a one off exception because i know that i already have a copy of the 7" which isn't in as good a condition as the one i bought recently but definitely playable, even on a sound system ( i'd rate it as "very good". I think i'll be able to re-sell that copy but it isn't what annoys me : i have now doubts about that seller whose other tune i bought from really was under-graded - a rarity ! - he wrote VG while it was EX - .BUT the problem is that i got that first package from him and the single was in a strong cardboard sleeve with a stamp on it, mentioning a pseudo. Yesterday, i saw the same pseudo bidding for items offered by the guy i'd won a second 7" from. I'm really puzzled because there maybe some ploy at work there in order to inflate the prices. i 'm not as naive as to believe such practices don't exist but i find this quite annoying, given my first impression on the seller was really positive ! Any similar experiences ?

Hi
SOULHEAVEN Ebay seller sent me a message yesterday saying "Your items have been shipped" but the point is that I'd paid for them exactly 1 month ago.

Are you in southern California by any chance? I recently ran across the very same type of copy at the record store where I work. When pricing it out, i noted on an outer sleeve that it was an odd issue, using old `60s label stock, but pressed more recently. Had me fooled at first, until I noted the relatively flimsy vinyl and the KK mastering notation. I figured it to be late `70s or early `80s, didn't realize KK was still going - or maybe the Dodds are honoring Pupa D's tradition of using old stampers forever? I think we sold it for $18. Sad, but not surprising, to think that someone could have bought it for the express purpose of fooling someone on ebay with a label shot. First time I've ever seen a Dodd release using old label stock like that. I do own a circa `80 yellow label NY press Get Ready Rock Steady LP with a beautiful orig. UK laminated flipback sleeve - one of my fave cover designs ever. It's in a frame on my wall now.

I'm in Argentina, but you got it, the seller location is "Southern California, United States". Of course I refused to buy the record. I have an OK early copy of that all instrumental SA LP with the same labels (but with right tracks on them). The seller relisted the record and guess what? it gone for 111 USD, total madness Check the auction cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=306&item=190114893902It's very common that some US 80's presses used to come with original UK sleeves, I have the Termites on yellow label red one, with the original UK sleeve.

Yes, that's our copy, shrinkwrap and all. From looking at his feedback/previous listings, I can see that he buys alot of stuff at our store (Amoeba in Hollywood.) I can also see that he has lost money on a number of pieces.

Just had a thought...shouldn't there be a "Raise And Praise (GOOD E-Bay Sellers)" sticky?
Remember, it's always easier to criticise than to praise...

(Moved this from it's original place on the 'good eBayer' thread)
I saw a 7" a couple of days ago on eBay where the seller (in the UK) wanted £4.50 for the P&P - and that was just for the UK! I can't remember what it was, but I'll post the link if I spot it again

£4.50 WILL BE FOR SIGNED AND RECORDED. if i sell tunes i prefer people to pay recorded especially if the tunes are over£30...that way you dont lose out as a seller if the post does something to the tune or the buyer isnt happy for any reason If it wasnt for the money i wouldnt bother sellin tunes

same guy w/ bogus skatalites lp got big $ for cedric brooke/ernie ranglin water lily label reissue lps - bought from us for $8 a piece, dist. by ernie. takes 2 to tango i guess - seller just noted the matrix number and some buyer didn't do their homework before bidding $80+ on each.
