Ah but it was held by Festus Coxson the sound man so that makes it worth a hundred quid instead of £9.99 from Dub Vendor!

Now I've seen Jump Jamaica Way on e bay going for a staggering £995! Can't see why this is the most sought after reggae/ska album? Why because it's old? Or is it because it's the first ever coxsone LP in it's original format? I've been a reggae, ska, rocksteady fan for many years and yes in the late 90's I flogged all my original studio one and trojan LP's because I was skint, and years later regretting it of course. After listening to the Jump Jamaica Way album on you tube, I can't see what all the fuss is about, most of the material doesn't sound like early Cecil Lloyd or Derrick and Patsy's 'Housewives Choice' or Derrick Morgan, even if it was in mint condition and it's original pressing I wouldn't even pay a tenner for it, I thought it was crap. Fair enough if you like blues it might be up your street, but for typical ska a no, no. Only a couple of tracks on the album sound anything like ska the heavy bass piano or the hark hark sound of early ska. Now my personal favorites are Derrick Harriott's Rockstready Party on the pink island label 1967 an excellent album, another one I'd like to obtain is Alton Ellis Soul of Jamaica album on the treasure isle label 1967 and Rocksteady the Gaylads on the blue coxsone label. Another one is Rico That Man Is Forward on the 2 tone label 1981. Jump Jamaica Way naaah if you like shooob, shooob, aaahhh, aaaah jingle jangle..... then go for it.
