Just hearing this Lp for the first time right now,... simply put, if you don't have it, put it on your list, and get it soon. Excellent pressing, and THAT lovely voice...

Try not to judge too many newer S1 Lps by their cover !!! Here IS one to be avoided though...

BMD,
This is something that I'm still coming to terms with. I've passed over listening to many a kick ass reggae record at my radio station because the covert art turned me off.
Thanks for the tip - the cover does look familiar to me, but maybe I've just got a picture of Campbell with that hairdo stuck somewhere in my head.

i reckon many people will be put off by the artwork on most contemporary Studio One albums but also by their re-issues, it is very funny how the artwork deteriorates pressing after pressing.i guess covers like the the one of the first Lennie Hibbert album must have been beautiful originally, same for All Stars Top Hits, Evening Time and such but their definition on the most recent represses is almost scary. As for this Cornell collection, well, it's one of the very underrated S1 modern albums which contains old and really not so old gems. One of my fave ones of those released in the last ten years on the label.i have the CD version which reads : Mgic Spell, can't get rid of that rough magic ! ; ) the other very underrated one is Doreen Schaffer 's Adorable You, a really beautiful album by a very sweet artist (yes, she does sound very old school but how charming her voice is!)

Even though people prefer vinyl (and I do of course as well), this Cornell album is a must have as a CD, because of three killer bonus cuts. Trick In The Book is one of the best Cornell tunes ever.

I agree, I have the CD issue too and Trick In The Book is over "Bobby Bobylon/Hi Fashion", a wicked cut better than the Jammy's digital lick IMO.
Respect
