Yeah read that too, wonder what happened there, since he was actually called on stage before schedule. Weird thing. But, what I found most interesting from this piece was that he by the official running order was slated to close the show!

sounds like some ego problem.. i think he was actually there but when he was accidentally called to come to the stage "too early" he got wound up and called it off

;D That's an interesting conclusion from such a short note about it, Solid. But to be expected same way, 'cause since his no-show at snwmf his 'ego' is used by some involved to explain every step he makes.

what are you talking about? how did i draw an "interesting conclusion"?
start quote "... as when Live Wyya band's lead singer completed a trio of songs, including Jah Guide and Ballroom Floor, he asked for "all who love Turbulence". And the 'notorious one' was on stage and ready to perform at minutes past 7:00 a.m., although by the official running order he was slated to close Salute '06. There was a moment of confusion, including a heated exchange between attempted performer and a member of the stage personnel to stage left, out of sight of most of the audience. Then MC Ron Muschette walked to stage centre and said "what a ting, when people tiad an' everybody waan sleep."
Turbulence did not return to perform... " end quote
seems pretty clear to me, but then i'm not his big cheerleader either

'Cheerleader', yep, I should have known that you would come up with something like that. It happened before in a discussion about Bitty McLean. Seems that you can't understand that someone who likes an artist is capable of objectively judging an article on said artist. Even though I feel it will be useless, I will give you my argumentation for my point of view and why I brought in you're reference to his 'ego' that I've heard / read more than once after the snwmf-affair on their board, hence my mentionning of it. Here's a quote from that piece: And the 'notorious one' was on stage and ready to perform at minutes past 7:00 a.m., although by the official running order he was slated to close Salute '06. You draw the conclusion that he did not want to perform yet 'cause he was the closing act (with his ego to blame), while in this above quote it says he was on stage and READY to perform. How does that rhyme with him not wanting to perform yet, as you claim? You are the one drawing the conclusions and nowhere did I, as 'cheerleader' , say what the reason was or could be, simply because I don't know and you don't know either. I'm even not saying you're 100% sure wrong, as said, I don't know, but judging on this written piece you're argument is as valid as the argument that he wanted to perform but was asked to leave the stage 'cause it wasn't his time yet. So it doesn't seem so clear to me at all. That he in the end didn't return at all is not very respectful to the audience, I'd agree with that.

Okay guys, you're free to discuss and disagree about stuff, it's life. Make it personal though and I have the power to change your avatars to pictures of the label of Girlie Girlie. Respect Gordy

well thats the thing isn't it marc -- you think you should second guess me and i don't get it
and then i think i should second guess you, and you don't get it. plus i think you see certain things through a rosy lens, especially all things turbulence
what a stupid few reasons to have a disagreement
i remember the yellowman tune you went out of your way to get me
anyway..........

Well Nick, disagreeing is no problem. I read and judge it my way, you your way and if I disagree with your view I tell you just as you will tell me. As a scientist in my daily work I'm used to always be critical about assumptions, so I pointed that out and I just feel I'm right in this case. Maybe I shouldn't have brought up the snwmf-affair in my reply cause that made it personal and that wasn't necessary, but I did cause I get the feeling that since then you are far more critical towards his doings then any other.
Anyway, it's not important. Things got a bit carried away. Enough about it. I will however finally remark that when you said: "I think you see certain things through a rosy lens", that besides Turbulence's and many other types of music, you're far, very far off the mark.

Quote from the Jamaicaobserver review:
"The obviously old Congos received virtually no crowd support. Their act was not of the professional standard of the other acts in that segment. Reggae Ambassadors Third World were musically tight, but lacked visual impact."
Thats how musical review shouldnt have been written. Im surprised he's not on the B&F board yet, supporting Bob, Dom & Cheyenne.
