Hi Marc, You are indeed the recommender of all that is good coming out of JA nowadays! I particularly liked this line.. " ...Yow, guh tell mi modda," he shouted to someone after being told the news. have you heard any good tunes yet this year? I think Bounty Killer's 'World Gone Crazy' sound interesting from the sample I heard...

Hey Ian, Other than samples, I haven't heard anything new since christmas-time or so. Wasn't so crazy about that Bounty Killer track myself (liked the Turbulence though) and also not about the Tribal War relick on Loyal Soldiers from late december. There's a new riddim just out cold Rose Apple that has been doing the rounds on mp3 for quite some time. I don't have the tunes myself, but the response is very good so that's one to look out for. I will have to cut down a bit on buying tunes this year (at least try to ), which means I wont order as much as before anymore and be a bit more selective, so I will be a bit behind compared to this year, which probably means I listen to the samples a bit more and so decrease the chance of buying short-of-interest-tunes, 'cause that does happen sometimes: I love a sample, get the tune and don't really feel it, check the sample again and conclude I don't know why I ordered it. ;D Still, I ofcourse will be up to date, but getting the actual tunes may take a bit longer.

Heard some of those Rose Apple cuts on the radio tonight, sounded pretty decent to my ears...I'm also not too impressed with the Tribal War/Peace tunes, though admittedly I'm not a big fan of the original (one of those songs and rhythms that for me just got tired real fast, so I'm not too interested in hearing a next recut).
As for Turbulence, good on him for getting the award, hope he can keep up the high standard for 2006 and not burn himself out with too many releases like some other artists...

Rose Apple riddim sound samples now up at Soundquake:tinyurl.com/dhsygI like the semi-spoken intros on the Sizzla and TOK cuts, Perfect's tune looks like the one to beat though:"I can't forget/ Mississippi's still burning although the ground was wet/ I can't forget/ the genocide of Rwanda/ cut off yuh locks and beat yuh fi ganja"

Thanks for the tip, Doug. Riddim sounds nice, though at first listen doesn't live up to its reputation for me (judging on what I read from it on DHR). Agree with the best of the set being the Perfect. I will probably order that one and the Turbulence.

Not that keen on Rose Apple - I do agree that the Perfect cut is the best one. Like the new cuts of Hot Milk/Burn dem
