Mr Sleeper - that is a great selection indeed containing many of my long time favourites.
However, that Pointer Sisters track knocked my socks off! I had not heard it before. Can you telll me please, is that a 7" cut or is it from an album somewhere?
Like James Brown said:
Know we need it, We got to have it, Know we want it, Got to have it, Give it to me, We need it, We got to have it,
Thanks and respect
Baldy

Hi Baldy - research in the racks here reveals it's from a Pointer Sisters album called Steppin - cover below. The tune is written by Allen Toussaint, and his version is on his Life Love & Faith album. Say It Loud, Bald And Proud!

Now it all makes sense!
Rob - thank you indeed for your rack research. I'm downloading it right now.

If you get a chance to listen to the Toussaint album, I'd say the killer track is Am I Expecting Too Much - the Meters and Toussaint at their finest.

Glad you liked it Baldy. I got the Pointer Sisters track from Vol. 2 of the I'm A Good Woman series, a great collection of female soul and funk.

Thank you Mick finbar - I remember the first time I heard that Ray Charles tune - played on a shoutcast by G - another one that knocked my socks off. So much killer soul music out there - and so much for me still to discover I'm sure. Respect Baldy
