Heavy Heavy Heavy is indeed heavy. That looks like a release worth checking out...

I've Been Away 1 Giant Leap (featuring Ramata Diakite, Yoshida Brothers etc) - Mothers Don't Cry 1 Giant Leap (featuring Oumou Sangare, Mahotella Queens, Speech etc) Nothing Wrong With Me Masters of Persian Music - Torkaman Etoile de Dakar - Jalo

Faiz Ali Faiz and his group with Keyvan and Bijane Chemirani - Ahle Nazar Qi Ankh Ka Tara Ali Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan - Nami Danam Che Manzil Bood
Two brilliant numbers - the first one an incredibly intense qawwali from Keyvan Chemirani's project The Rhythm of the Speech (Accord Croisés); the second a gently rocking ghazal from around late 1980's.

Sxcellent choice, my dear Zap. I got 3 albums by Jimmy on cd, and in the right mood it's brilliant stuff! But nowadays I constantly listen to the Triffids, my secret favourite band from the 80's, and one of Australia's finest. Domino has a wonderful reissue series of the Triffids stuff, it's all good Favourite song at the moment: "Save what you can"

Pink Floyd - Lucifer Sam "That cat's something I can't explain!" Pink Floyd - Set The Controls For The Heart Of The Sun... far out, maaaaaaan... Stranglers - Walk On By... love the extended instrumental section... tuff! Aaron Neville - Hercules... gritty! Sex Pistols - Sattelite... like GSTQ part two, or maybe part one? Love the bit at the end where Rotten tells them to stop coz he can't take any more of Jones and Cook's monolithic riffing.

I've only listened to early Durutti Column on Factory before, but then I stumbled across the song Gun from the album "Keep Breathing (2006) and it brought me to tears. Never before has a song reflected my feelings I've had in recent times as well as it.
Vini is a true genius.

Don't Want To Know
And I don't want to know about evil Only want to know about love I don't want to know about evil Only want to know about love.
Sometimes it gets so hard to listen Hard for me to use my eyes And all around the cold is glistening Making sure it keeps me down to size.
And I don't want to know about evil Only want to know about love I don't want to know one thing about evil Only want to know about love.
I'm waiting for the planes to tumble Waiting for the towns to fall I'm waiting for the cities to crumble Waiting till I see you crawl.
Yes it's getting hard to listen Hard for us to use our eyes Cause all around that gold is glistening Making sure it keeps us hypnotized.
And I don't want to know about evil I only want to know about love I don't want to know about evil Only want to know about love.
I don't want to know anything about evil Only want to know about love I don't want to know about evil Only want to know about love.
Composed by John Martyn taken From The album " Solid Air"

"Take it down from the mast irish traitors"
Take it down from the mast Irish traitors, The flag we Republicans claim, It can never belong to Free Staters, You brought on it nothing but shame.
Then leave it to those who are willing, To uphold it in war and in peace, To those who intend to continue, Until England’s cruel tyranny cease.
You have taken our brave Liam and Rory, You have murdered young Richard and Joe, Your hands with their blood are still gory, Fulfilling the work of the foe.
But we stand with Enright and Larkin, With Daly and Sullivan bold, We will break down the English connection, And bring forth the nation you sold.
Take it down from the mast Irish traitors, The flag we Republicans claim, It can never belong to Free Staters, For you brought on it nothing but shame. Written by Dominic Behan
