Wanted a long tune I could get stuck into last night, so played Tortoise's 'Djed' from the 'Millions Now Living Will Never Die' album - just got a repressed copy on blue vinyl, which of course sold it to me!

Probably just coincidence, Richard, but then again... Meanwhile, this rocks nicely (though the video is a bit juvenile) by the BeauBowBelles; I'm often a sucker for duelling fiddles and this is joyful 'saws at ten paces' business. The song is called "These days" www.dailymotion.com/video/x128mz6_these-days_music

I'm no fiddle expert, but it sounded grand to me Though I note the guitarist appears to have had his fingernails buffed and the accordionist could do with a bit of lip salve!

Nick Drake - Three Hours My fancypants Five Leaves Left boxset arrived today. Only played side one so far, sounds great, but I'm not sure if it's really any better than the green vinyl (boot?) that was around about 4/5 years ago. Once held an original pressing in my hands, but the seller wanted a grand for it. I was almost too scared to even touch it

These kids have got talent no doubt. Saw them on Glastonbury highlights, and Jools Holland I think it was. Youthful energy, enthusiasm, and okay tunes, what's not too like so far?

Agreed Roland and I believe the singer is only 16.Made a Michael Ricketts with the cut and paste though when declaring them at number 1.5 in the chart, now rectified.
