Just posted the below on Podomatic... getting a bit fed up now..
No downloads today. Feed views about 250 so far today (which is low for me by this time of day)but no downloads!! Also there is some phantom hidden podcast being hosted on and downloaded (previously to this latest screw up) on my space! Can't delete it in My Media.
I really am getting fucked off (sorry kids) with the creaking ship. I pay for extra bandwidth because I'm exceeding it, and then people can't get the show at all! It's a good thing I'm not here trying to make some sort of commercial concern work, then again my listeners are my customers, it's a pity I can't deliver, oh... wait a second I do and can deliver, it's podomatic that isn't!...
Is this just amateurish hobby night around here? Or if I produce a professional show that gets 40000 plus listeners per month do I get a professional company looking after their side of the business?
If I take this further, I'm going to have to take it away aren't I? Because it just starts to look like I can't trust the ship not to start sinking when someone takes their eye off the bilge pump - - again.

It sure does suck at times.
Last week I had around 3,800 downloads.
This week it's just over 2,000 with a day and a half til the new week starts....
But, as was stated in another thread, not really many alternatives around.
Respect
Gordy

In all honesty we do our show because we enjoy recording it. It's a laugh to do and I rarely look to see how many people have listened or downloaded it. I'm not overly bothered. The day I don't enjoy doing it will be the day I stop irrespective of whether we get thousands of downloads or none.

Podoshite? Fucked off? Mikey does appear to be a very angry man doesn't he? What a pity, and what a waste. Always angry about this or that, probably mainly with himself for wasting so much time in front of a computer compiling these podcasts! I think he feels his customers underestimate his podcasts. It's not so much that you're a mite bit one dimensional Mikey, just that you're so 'string theory' rude. Who mentioned glass houses?

Hmmmmm
You mean these podcasts which he only does once in a while?
Where's your podcast?
Mikey is a naturally talented person who could walk into a job on "proper" radio tomorrow if the right one were available.
He's also a nice bloke and his only "crime", like me, is that he speaks his mind.
He has never been one dimensional and isn't on this board just to prattle on about Celtic football team.
Now, I believe you and I have had the occasional disagreement but never a full blown feud as such.
If you'd like one, keep on making wild and woolly statements about someone that you don't even know. Cos I'll tell you this, there's a handful of people on this board whom I have the utmost respect for and Mikey is one of them and I've got his back big time.
Your choice man, cut the B.S. or get your flak jacket on.

So he can just have an unprovoked pop at me, and I have a tongue in cheek pop back and you then have a pop. Thats cool , I'm all for free speech but its becoming more and more apparent that that is no longer the case here, unless its by certain people. Thats not cool. Regarding disagreements, I dont really recall but then again you have that many on here that ours maybe happened a long time back. It may have escaped your notice but I have backed you a few times against individual attacks, same as I have others. I have also bit my tongue a few times regarding your behaviour on here, mainly because I believe in free speech, but let me say I didnt feel good about it. Apparently "everyone has a right to an opinion whether you think it is right or wrong", I wonder sometimes though. I suppose I better get my cyber flak jacket on though, because my only crime, like you and Mikey and a good few others is we "speak our mind". By the way, like yourself probably, I participate in a few other websites discussion boards and believe me I have never had so much as a cross word with anybody, what that says about me and the members of this message board is anybodys guess

Gordon, I dont think I'm better than anybody, what does that mean anyway and how is it measured? You seem to have a major hangup with other people being "better" than you. .

G, nah worry yourself, like Gryffe says he has every right, ... It's of no suprise that he's not been able to let my criticism of himself t'other day lay, I have been fully expecting further references to my comments. Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz. . . . . I think the main diff picked up on here is that in the above mail where I decribe myself as 'fucked off',... well for that read 'mildly angry', so Gryffe has a fair point to make, revealling my hypocrisy... but, particularly of the last year or so my posts are fairly happy, easy going affairs,.. I feel that I have noticed that Gryffe's are most often, anger laced, aggressive and often confrontational. Designed to wind up the folks. Polemic for polemics sake. This is quite possibly not so, and I only notice those posts where controversy (lite C) is noted and highlighted here on this board. I think it takes one to know one, and I think I can pick up on latent anger in a few of our 'boarders'. Nobody likes being told to their face what they already privately are only too aware of, and it will often get a allergic reaction that kind of thing..

.... maybe I should post more about cricket and food and barbecues and dildos then? I'm sorry you find my posts anger laced and aggressive Mikey. I probably only read about 20% of the posts that are submitted here, if only everybody else would do the same we would all get on like a house on fire. And how boring would that be? Its actually quite noticeable that my fellow "controversial" posters have largely given up posting over the last few weeks, probably fed up of being lectured to by sanctemonious happy clappers. I note also you have added amateur psychiatry to your ever expanding bow, well done.

Awww you somehow managed to call me expanding. Thank you and yes I am. Ever onwards... Amateur psychaitrist. Hmmm... actually in a manner of speaking yes, and in another ... hmmm ... not. Over the last year I've been going to CBT, Cognative Behavioural Therapy. £75 a bastard pop for an hour! Anyway, one of the main aims of CBT is to teach each recipient how to be their own counsellor and future therapist. If you like to give them the skills to see problems, create fixes and effect change. Note I say 'own therapist' this of course doesn't make me your therapist. CBT though does teach you how to see in others what you yourself are dealing with. In my case, Low Self Esteem, fear of failure and the anger issues associated. CBT therapists tell you to avoid telling others what you can see, particularly about their low self esteem, so I should've just shut up where you're concerned really Gryffe.

doesnt everyone have "Low Self Esteem, fear of failure and the anger issues associated" to a certain degree? some people are up front about it and make psychiatrists rich, some people are shrivelling wrecks in their bedrooms, some become alcholics or drug addicts yadda yadda yadda. so far I have become none of these things, although theres still time

Hey Wormy, CBT is nothing more than 'mind over matter'. If you don't mind, it doesn't matter.
I think modern psychotherapy copped that from Buddha. He teaches that what we are today is controlled by our past thoughts and actions. What we will be tomorrow is controlled by our thoughts and actions today.
Ah so! The old self-fulfilling prophesy.
You're right, CBT is bloody expensive.
Buddhism is free!

I say take Buddhism and spend that £75 you would have spent on CBT on Reggae records. Frankly, it's a very overpriced and these days apparently overhyped therapy of the minute. I certainly havn't taken my money's worth from it. It's been useful, but nothing I couldn't have done with a book on the subject and an extra little bit of determination.

Yeah, I picked up on the CBT concept fairly quickly. CBT is fairly easy to understand intellectually but emotionally it can be challenging. Good thing insurance paid the tab though.
My shrink actually recommended the Buddhist take on CBT as background reading. She was a little old Philipino lady who turned me around 180 degrees just by telling me her life story. Could have been bullshit but I ate it up anyway and got on with my life.
Thich Nhat Hhan is the man for mindfulness training. Good stuff.
I have to say CBT and Buddhist philosophy have helped me quite a bit. I quit Babylon in Chicago and moved to Northern Colorado. Much happier now. Must be the altitude. Or the acupuncture treatments. I have the needle man give me the 'I don't give a shit' needle right between the eyes. After that you really don't give a shit. Amazing. Works well on my chronically bad shoulder also.
Hasn't cured me of my reggae addiction however. Thank Jah for that!
