OK, so I've posted this here aswell as in the 'new' section, well it is kind of 60's music but with a modern twist, so don't shoot me! anyway I've just seen on the Dub Vendor site that 2 more 7's are being released on Peckings... A - Natijah - Can't Get Away B - Tommy McCook & Supersonics - Version A - Richie Davis - It's True B - Lady Lex - God Bless The Child No info on there as to what riddims they are on...

so that makes it five or more i still haven't seen those, given i'd rather buy them at my fave record store : they have been in touch with Peckings for years but it seems that in the export trade, the brothers still have a lot to learn. besides, that DV site is really a drag to watch, one of the worst ones for mail order i'd say.

yep, I agree with you that the DV site is slow and there's no sound samples or much of a description, so there are better sites to visit, but being local to me I still like to use them and I ordered the new Randy's 7's at the weekend and they arrived today, which is nice considering the last order I made with them got lost in the post and never arrived....grrrrrr!!!

Nice to know that I'm not the only one who doesn't like DUB VENDOR's website!
I've never bought from it. The navigation is the only reason why.

i used to order from DV many years ago, but frankly, ordering from england is no longer very interesting for a person living in continental europe : the cost isn't worth it.i only do it for oldies and certain records which don't seem to have any distro out of the UK. unfortunately, the Peckings crew don't seem to be very good at exporting their stuff, so it takes a little time before they react. The Bitty album does well in the paris shops (at least those which sell such old school stuff!), even among non-specialists but the 7"s are another matter... as a matter of fact, most of the most interesting smaller UK labels don't have a clue how to promote their releases.those who come and do some business with the local shops are usually "rewarded" (well, they don't reach the Top 100 but ...).That's too bad for the others because if they reached out a little more towards foreign countries, even those which are close, they'd be slightly better off.though we know music doesn't sell that much nowadays. as for DV site, the navigation makes a lot of people laugh : though the intro looks nice , the rest is so far from being functional. They were ripped off, it seems. so, how many new singles produced by Bitty have been released ?can't wait to hear them!

I think your distribution concerns are also valid in London. I went to the Soul Jazz shop looking for the last ones as they'd stocked Bitty's previous Peckings releases, but they said they hadn't heard of the new ones being available yet, despite Peckings distributing to them personally.
Anyway, these 2 are the 3rd and 4th of the new releases.
The previous 2 were..
Peter Hunnigale - In The Ghetto
Kelly Makeada - Shake It Off
...which I also got from DV.

thanks Ian, i think i will have to pester my usual record dealer so that he starts pestering the Peckings too.aS a big fan of P Hunnigale, can't wait to hear that one! very keen on female voices too. Some of the tunes are r&b covers, right ? i really enjoyed the previous one by J L Davies.

so far i am underwhelmed by all the newly-released Peckings
pressings are not as crisp, and neither is the mastering.. or the tunes themselves
too bad.. was expecting to love them!
