Picked this up for a fiver today, haven't played it yet.
Seen it on and off in the last couple of years, but never at a decent price - I was intrigued enough as I like the Pink Floyd album, but not so intrigued as to shell out around 14 notes.
Question is, will I be disappointed when I play it?
BTW - are this outfit Aussies - I don't have the CD to hand right now...

It's produced by Easy Star records out of NYC I believe. It's OK; more of a novelty thing I suppose. They do the album start to finish and then there's some DJ versions; I believe Ranking Joe voices one but I may be wrong. Tell the truth I haven't played it since I gave it a few spins right after I got it. And I got it to turn my girlfriend's daughter who's a big PF fan on to reggae. If you're a big PF fan then it dovetails nicely with your collection. I'll give it three moons out of a possible five...

I got a cdr copy of it, as I wouldn't have bought it myself, but quite liked what I heard although I have to say I haven't put it back on since!
I hadn't heard the Pink Floyd album for quite a number of years, I used to share a flat with a PF fan so got bored of there lp's pretty quickly!, but it brought back many memories from that time too as it stays pretty faithful to the original but with added reggae bounce.

I found it quiete funny, haven't listen to the original for years. A novelty thing for cashing in money to release other stuff. Seems to work

as several of those guys play in Dub Is a Weapon and Dave Hillyard Rocksteady 7, i just can't slag that album off but apart from that...well, not too familiar with PF and such 70's stuff, anyway.Just remeber liking the Wall movie

I thought it was pretty well done..given the material that they had to work with (the original PF lp),, turning it into a reggae album while still trying to be true to the original was no easy feet..it is good to listen to..but it will not your fave reggae album of all time
however, i didnt mind paying full price for it..so if you got it cheap..then great
also, i think it is better if you are already familiar with the original songs..growing up in the 70s..PF was everywhere..

Pink Floyd was my first ever concert in 1972, they played "Dark Side" before it was released. Man, was I impressed Still got the album somewhere... "Dub Side" brought back some memories, yep it's well done, but surely not the reggae I normaly listen too.

Nice comments fellow - thanks I was "blossoming" in the early 70s, finding my way at work, with "girls" and socially (already lost to Reggae). ...also tried desperately to avoid the so-called "Progressive" music like PF wherever possible. Started to enjoy "Dark Side Of The Moon" at the end of the 70s. So I'm looking forward to giving this a l-o-u-d play tomorrow while I'm the only one at home
