After losing my access to B&F & Trojan I was wondering if anybody wants to start chatting about music here? I shall check back in a couple of days to see if any response....

Hi JJ I think the recent reissue of the African Brothers 'How Many Men' is very good. Really great sound and pressing.

Are you on Facebook, JJ? That seems to be the home of discussion these days; reggae and otherwise. A very unsatisfactory platform for it in my opinion... all a bit too fleeting and unsearchable externally. The internet is not what it once was. 31 views to this thread though...
I did buy some records this month. Very expensive things nowadays. Doesn't help that my local (20 miles away) store which carried some things closed exactly a year ago and the newer one that many people seem to happy enough with thinks that music stops at mostly at Rock with a bit of Jazz reissue action.

Hey there Freddy C, nice to hear from you. I was on Facebook for a very short time, although not long enough to have been around for any reggae discussions I just couldn't understand all the pic's of peoples restaurant dinners??? ) I agree , record prices & postage has gone ballistic in the last few years as we know, but somehow I keep on finding the money to buy it with (addiction -it's a hard life-style ) I just ordered King Size Reggae on CD from Amazon UK , as there were a number of tunes I don't already own - on the Dr Bird label & Leslie Kong productions - should arrive in 3-4 weeks...… What did you pick up Freddy? Cheers j j

Facebook, my arse! I just bought a vinyl copy of Bim Sherman's "Exploitation" album (from Doctor Rob who used to post on here). I bought the CD when it was released (30 years ago - wha!!!) but it must've been a dodgy one and skipped all over the place. My first, and only, I think, skippy CD. I tried all the popular remedies of the day - toothpaste, WD40, T-Cut (I might've made up those last two but I definitely tried the first one) but it didn't help, though it did smell nice and fresh. I haven't played it yet but it will be strange to hear the songs when they're not going "g-g-g-g-g-g-g, t-t-t-t-t-t-t, y-y-y-y-y-y"
