Hello everyone, I am working on a new BBC multi-media project called the People's History of Pop. We are crowdsourcing the British public's memories to tell the history of popular music across the U.K in from the 1950s through the noughties. PHOP.CO.UKWe would love to see some more reggae memories up on the website. Do you have any fond memories of seeing reggae bands in the U.K? Were there any particular venues you visited to listen to reggae music? Did you run your own soundsystem? We're looking for everything from photos, audio, footage, posters, ticket stubs and more. We will be producing a BBC 4 four-part series based on the best stuff that is submitted to the site. Thank you Emma EmmaLove@7wonder.co.uk

Hello, Emma, and welcome to the forum. If you check our Off Topic section, you will find enought reggae related stuff to make your project an eight-part series. You'll find other topics of interest there as well: many interesting Celtic vs. Rangers analyzes, quite a lot of poetry (excellent and mediocre), and some really charming personal exchanges of courtesy phrases. And the forum's pièce de résistance is undoubtedly the Off Topic thread Off to the far pavilion... , a discussion started in 2009 and a joy to read even for those of us not into cricket. Back to the reggae memories: here's some examples (but I suspect most of this is copyrighted stuff): djgreedyg.proboards.com/thread/22389/lovely-yardbirdsdjgreedyg.proboards.com/thread/22399/all-saints-roaddjgreedyg.proboards.com/thread/22447/rulers-wrong-emboyo-rioAll the best, good luck!
