jps; Aah. I see what you mean now. betterdayz; Yeah. That is one rare album. Been seeing it from time to time on auctions but never for money I could spend on it. It looks to be very good. dainjahras; Welcome to the forum! I don't know how it sounds really. Heard a small sample from the auction that the cover is taken from and it did indeed sound good. But I can't remember the songs or their titles. Some other albums that I've been intrigued by are; Rico Rodriguez & Joe Manzano - Bullet Dub (Blank LP) -- I've got this one on CD-R and it is some very early dub style. Never ever seen it though. Dubb Everlasting (Sky Note LP) -- Never heard all though a very kind person did a CD-R for me that I'm waiting to arrive. Dirty Harry Dub (Freelimo LP) -- Only seen on eBay once. Anyone that has heard it? Matumbi - Dub Planet Orbit 1 (Extinguish LP) -- Incredibly short LP with only 6 tracks not extended and not all being dub either. But remarkably good too. Prince Mohammed - Unknown title (Hungry Town LP) -- One of the rarest deejay LP's I know. Been dying to hear this as the few songs available from it are all brilliant.

Got it myself (lucky find once..) a really nice piece indeed. Absolutely! This is another pretty rare dj piece (Dutch private press.. got a spare copy so in case you are interested. Released in my hometown but I only ever saw 2 copies in nearly 10 years time now, which I both took hehe) www.strictly-vibes.com/sister-spliff-demon-dread-marchena-city-1979-vt6012.htmla pretty cool piece.. Female dj-ing over Channel One and Studio One riddims like bob andy's - unchained.

Yeah, I've heard that album. It has rhythms such as Rum Drinker/Herbalist on it if I'm not mistaken. From what I recall it was nice rhythms but rather weak chatting. Or even bordering on lousy chatting. Perhaps I need to re-listen to it?

Compared to other Dutch reggae LP's and singles that I have it's pretty good. Often Surinam or Antillean groups (some small Islands in the Caribbean that are part of our country) Differs from track to track.. Some are kinda sloppy (like street baby for example) other are pretty strong imo.. A mixed bag really. But overall speaking I enjoy the album. And on a sidenote.. About dub planet orbit. Those tracks are remixed dubs of originally skinhead oi rac type of tunes if I remember correctly. I once met someone who had 2 vocal tracks on 7" I heard it, but years ago. Perhaps someone can shed some more light on that

Hey! Let's bump this old thread. Some other very rare albums I wonder about. Any information on them? All UK releases. Eric Clarke - Love That Grows & Grows (Baal). I've got another album on Baal by the UK-based roots group Eclipse (produced by Sidney Crooks) and it really is remarkable. I'd forgotten about this thread. I found the Eric Clarke LP a couple of months ago, bought from a random bloke in the street in Camberwell for a fiver. Also got a copy of 12 Tribes Showcase on Orthodox this year from another forum user here. Must say the Clarke LP is quite disappointing, I don't rate it anywhere near some of his singles, although it does have Dreadlocks Don't Like That Style on it, which I didn't have and am unlikely to shell out for. Love the Orthodox LP, very strong.

I've got the dub LP that's more or less a counter part to that Eric Clarke album. It's a really nice dub album ... doesn't necessarily say too much about the vocal counter parts though.
Will have to get the Orthodox LP some day. Even though it still is very very expensive it is at least a quite acceptable price when taking in regard of what it used to cost.

the earl/tad LP is not that crazy rare, it shows up in NYC sometimes, mostly w/o cover.
the thing about that record is that like many others from the same time/place, it was pressed in small qty and sold only locally by a very ltd # of outlets (sometimes just 1 place) and so as w/o distribution most of the copies end up in the same place and many years later it seems deceivingly rare. tho i guess rare is mostly subjective anyway.
another one that fits this particular bill is the (mostly) white label MAGIC FIRE DUB LP.

I think my copy also didn't have a cover originally. Seems to be something home-made printed later on (found it with a batch of +- 30 other wackie's records... All with the same type black/white glued printed sleeves. All the african roots releases, the love joys both jerry johnson - for all seasons, who do you think I am by milton henry and so forth ) Well a small quantity makes it rare doesn't it regardless where a copy ends up?(just statistical..) It never shows up on ebay (I try to collect everything Wackie's produced..) to my knowledge the last time it was on was about 5 years ago. And I spoke to a long time collector from NY who once told me. Last time I saw another copy was 20 years ago.. You can put it in comparison a little bit. There is a 7" on the same label with 2 album tracks on it. It's not an ebay every week, but it does show up a lot..and is pretty easy to get. deadlydragonsound.com/images/view/24553a.gifDub unlimited is also pretty rare to my best knowledge..

I do agree with what was said about locally distributed by the way. I notice that here as well. Certain reggae records can only be found in specific areas... Outside that they don't show up period..

Is that the one with a painted portrait of Haile Selassie I over the african continent on the cover? Bought it some time ago and really enjoyed the deep vibe. But from what I remember it was just half an album. Three songs in showcase style. Far too short. It's closer to being a discomix single in 33 rpm than an showcase LP. Been meaning to scan the album and upload to flickr for some while but haven't had the time.
Some other rare records that I'd love to hear.
Ringo - Dry Land Tourist (D-Roy LP) - I'm not even certain this one exists. Ringo - Push Lady Push (Black & White LP) - This one I've seen on eBay. I was the only bidder but since there was a reserve price the record never was sold to me.

"super charge" i'm pretty sure is the same record as either "Satta dub strictly roots" or "full charge" dub LPs, just a different (and less common) cover.

"super charge" i'm pretty sure is the same record as either "Satta dub strictly roots" or "full charge" dub LPs, just a different (and less common) cover. Some familiar channel one riddims on that record, but it's not the same as satta dub or full charge. Please re-issue some of those well-charge/channel one dub sets like Satta dub if the tapes still excist!..

here it is, found it, read the description - www.popsike.com/SATTA-DUB-channel-one-dub-lp-SILK-SCREEN-SLEEVE/150424979598.htmlnormally i would not trust this info from a random ebay seller but this is the same guy (bellevue77) who sold the "super boom" LP shortly before this, so since he's saying it i am assuming he compared them. at the time of that first super boom auction i showed it to jojo, he didn't recall anything about it other than that at that time they had various silkscreen designs, and that probably it was (as this seller says) it was just a different jacket for one of the other two. there are two diff. designs for "satta dub", the more normal plain one, like in the above link, and this more intricate and less common one - www.popsike.com/SATTA-DUB-LP-STRICTLY-ROOTS-RARE-JAMAICA-REGGAE/250089185787.htmlall that said, i would love to be proven wrong and "super boom" be its own LP...

I've never heard the 'Super Charge - Super Boom'' Which riddims are there?
'Satta Dub' has been my companion for 30 years, easy to spot riddims: A side is mostly sweet Treasure Isle rubadub (major keys) like Travelling Man /Those Guys / I'm In the mood For Love / Everybody Bawling / etc B side is rootsier Declaration / In Time To Come /Swell Headed / Stand Up To Your Judgement etc...
Any audio samples?

someone who owns SUPER CHARGE SUPER BOOM need only post the matrix information and/or the tracklist, to really sort this out, but seems unlikely anyone who paid a bag of money for it is going to share such info...
unless anyone saved the sound sample from the original auction? i believe the seller had the whole LP streaming in an auction player...

Mosiah lp!!! recorded in france in 1980 by the baileys brothers . they first released a killer melodica tune in 1979 on Big Records label imageshack.us/photo/my-images/717/dscf0139gu.jpg/It's easy to find a polish 7" from this album ("Trying to kill us/"Don't chant me) but to get this lp it's another story!!! This is the only roots album from this group. After this french experience, they prefered to make ska-pop-reggae sound under the name "The Equators". Jah Warrior "Millenium dub"
