I just wanted to share this piece of gem I managed to find on a flea market LP, a shady looking Mexican print from the 70's containing Peruvian music from the early 70's (I guess). Not a bad compilation all, but this cover version of Tito Puente's Oye Come Va done in boogaloo style really stands out. Recorded by some guy called Mario Allison - the name doesn't ring any bell. So here you go, what you think? Cool? s60.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=37EPOQ1OBO4T516613ILY35FJBAre there any other wicked Peruvian artists out there? Any compilations available? More from this maestro? Juha Ahorn.

More in common with the Santana version than Tito's still cool though Love the "chiminy chiminy chiminy!" thanks J C.D

havn't listened to the track; but the "sound of black peru" comp on luaka bop is excellent. the opening track by susan baca is absolutley magnificent.
