I know it's not JA Style but I couldn't justify starting a new thread on the strength of it, (even though it's worthy)

musicology #153 duets2 #2 Beres Hammond & Marcia Griffiths - Live On day two of the duets selection is one of the tunes that drew me back to the sweet sounds of Jamaica in 1993 after a year spent in the musical wilderness waiting to be inspired after 5 years listening, playing and DJ’ing ‘house’ which by then had made the transition from under to overground and was being used to sell cat food, yoghurt, etc produced by Donovan Germain for his trend setting Penthouse label. a slice of the ‘College Rock’ rhythm from 1992/3, a ‘digital’ reworking of Jackie Mittoo’s ‘Freak Out’… themusicologist.wordpress.com

Excellent version of a Bobby Womack tune i think.
The dub, called Woman's Dub i believe, is also great - is it on Perry's Revolution Dub album?

The only place i've seen the Jimmy Riley vocal version is on the four-CD Trojan set I Am The Upsetter.
Doubtless there'll be cries of 'Trojan recycling again'. but i think it's a rather good set.

Rob, for me it's always been about the music and not the format. of course it's nice to have the original 45/LP/12 but not always possible. so be it a reissue on vinyl or CD it's better to have, listen and learn from than not.
